British Open Golf 2024

The British Open Gold begins today and there is much speculation as to who will win. Thomas Bjorn from Denmark is one of the favorites and is currently in first place. But let's not forget the young and talented Rory McIllroy who wowed fans by winning the U.S. Open. Another favorite is Phil Mickelson, who has long been known to pull out all the stops at the British Open. It should also be noted that Tiger Woods is not taking part in this Open.

A Royal Event

Held at Royal St. George, the course is a rough one and will take every ounce of expertise in reading the greens to become victorious. Royal St. George golf course will host more than 150 players. With 5 million British pounds as the prize money ($8M US), there is definitely incentive to tackle this course with determination. Last year's winner was Louis Oosthuizen of South Africa. But what significant is that in this year's tournament, four players who have won championships coming into this event are all in their 20's.
