The O-Line which sets the tone and the path the end zone made an upgrade in the off-season with free agent C Matt Birk. 1st Round Michael Oher is a great story perseverance and the NFL fans are cheering for him to succeed. Oher has the talent and can play tackle or guard. The Ravens were third in rushing with a 3 nut RB crew featuring Willis McGahee, Ray Rice and 260 lb Le'Ron McClain (I got fast feet McClain). Offensive strategy will be the same in 2009 as the Ravens did little to improve their WR corps. Expect more 2 and 3 TE set with the signing of TE LJ Smith.
Baltimore Ravens Defensive Outlook:
The 3rd ranked rush defense may be better this year with the return of NT Kelly Gregg who missed all of 2008. Bart Scott will be missed but the Ravens depth and development of LB should continue with LB Tavares Gooden and 2nd round pick Paul Kruger. Secondary ranked high with the tough run defense. Expect the same with returning CB Fabian Washington (19 defended passes) and Ed Reed still making game changing plays.
