Minnesota Vikings (13-4 SU, 10-6-1 ATS, 8-9 O/U) will visit the New Orleans Saints (14-3 SU, 9-8 ATS, 8-9 O/U). Both teams coming off dominate wins at home in their respective domes. Both teams closed out the season with sub-par performances and both impressed in their wins with big plays and some solid defense. The Saints have an equal amount of weapons in the running game and through the air. The Vikings run defense held the Cowboys to 92 yards rushing and took their run game out with their big lead. The Vikings defensive line just outplayed the Cowboys offensive line. The Viking have the second best rush defense allowing 87.1YPG while the Saints allowed 122.2 YPG. Saints run defense tightened up with the return of DT Sedrick Ellis but will have a big challenge in stopping AP and more importantly the play action big plays that Favre lit up the Cowboys with. Saints defense got healthier in secondary in their match up with New Orleans. I see the Vikings being able to run the ball effectively because of the match ups and then Favre will be able to pick his spots against the Saints secondary. Saints run defense will be up tough against the Vikings dominate run defense and the Vikings will still be able to get pressure on Brees even though DE Edwards is questionable. The Saints dome will be loud and rocking but the Vikings are used to loud domes and they have an experienced offensive line and QB. Have to take Vikings and Favre +3.5 Point Spread.
