Indianapolis Colts Betting
The 2008 Indianapolis Colts will be looking for their 7th straight playoff appearance starting in the new retractable-roof Lucas Oil Stadium. Sportsbooks predict that the Colts will win 11 regular season games but sharp money is betting that the Colts injury woes will make it a tough season. The Colts have preseason injuries to QB Peyton Manning, C Jeff Saturday, WR Marvin Harrison, DE Dwight Freeney and S Bob Sanders all of whom need to be back to full strength for the Colts to make a deep playoff run.

2007 Record: 13-3 (1st, AFC South)

Defensive Team Rank: 15th Rushing, 2nd Passing, 1st Scoring
The Indianapolis Colts offense is stacked with talent behind Peyton Manning's brilliant decision making. The Colts are loaded at wide receiver and running back even if 36 year old WR Marvin Harrison is not fully recovered from off season knee surgery. Reggie Wayne and TE Dallas Clark picked up the extra balls from Harrison. Pro Bowl C Jeff Saturday will be out for a prolonged time with a knee injury and will be sorely missed on a talented offensive line that inclues Tony Ogoh and Ryan Diem. Peyton Manning was sacked 21 times last year the most since 2002 when he also had his worst passer rating.
The Colts defense has a talented roster that had the 2nd best pass defense and was 1st in fewest points allowed. DE Dwight Freeney is looking to get healthy and back to form after a foot injury in week 10. 2007 NFL Defensive Player of the Year Bob Sanders is recovering from off season shoulder surgery. The Colts defense will have another solid year with their top talent returning including LB Gary Brackett and Pro Bowl FS Antoine Bethea.
NFL Betting Edge
Pass protection for Peyton Manning could be an issue this year after he is recovering from a knee infection and the loss of Pro Bowl C Jeff Saturday. See how Offensive Line coach Howard Mudd is able to adapt and see who steps up to replace Saturday. If teams are able to get pressure on Manning up the middle start to fade the spread.
