Indianapolis Colts Betting | 2009 NFL Betting Guide
The 2009 Indianapolis Colts see the Jim Caldwell era start with almost he same squad that won 12 games (8 wins by 7 or less points) in 2008. The Colts look to start the off with a healthier offensive line and Peyton Manning which will result in a better running game that ranked 31st in rushing in 2008. A beefier defensive line that almost averages 20 lbs heavy is meant to plug up a porous run defense that ranked 24th and kept the Colts offense off the field for long stretches of time. A much tougher AFC South with the Titans and Texans could make for a long year for Jim Caldwell.

2009 Indianapolis Colts Offensive Outlook:
The 2008 Colts 31st ranked rushing attach was stuffed from the start of the year by early injuries to the O-Line. The Colts look to have more depth and experience by playing their youngsters last year. Ryan Lilja looks recovered from his knee injury that cost him all of 2008. If Addai can not stay healthy the Colts used a 1st round draft pick on Connecticut RB Donald Brown. As long a Manning is healthy the Colts look like they can improve on their 13th ranked scoring offense.
2009 Indianapolis Colts Defensive Outlook:
The Colts have a new philosophy on the defensive line in that they are going for bulk over speed and finese. The Colts new DL have an average of 20 lbs of bulk to plug the gaps in the physical running game in the AFC South. How they execute will be seen earlier in the season. Bob Sanders enters the season recovering from injury and is a question mark again. Not a huge upgrade in the off season in the defense.
