Jacksonville Jaguars Betting
The 2008 NFL Jacksonville Jaguars are looking to get back to the playoffs with an improved pass rush from 2 rookie DE and a punishing running game. Sportsbooks predict the Jaguars will 10 regular season games and have the fifth best odds of winning the Super Bowl. The Jaguars went 11-5 (2nd AFC South) in 2007 and were 6-2 at home but lost two crucial games to Peyton Manning. The Jaguars had a strong off season to address their off season needs of getting a better pass rush to get to Brady and Manning while also adding WR talent.

The Jacksonville Jaguars offense will have 2nd year starting QB David Garrard (2509 yds, 18 TDs 3 Int) leading the surprisingly sixth highest scoring offense that managed 411 points last season. QB Garrard had the 3rd highest QB rating at 102.2 with a mediocre receiving corps. The running game for the Jaguars has been solid behind the 1-2 punch of Fred Taylor (1,202 yards, 5 TDs) and Maurice Jones-Drew (768 yards, 9 TDs). The Jaguars added some depth at WR by bringing in Jerry Porter and Troy Williamson to stretch to field. The Jags want to open the passing game so teams do not stack the box with 8 defenders, however, the top 3WRs have been dinged up in preseason with Dennis Northcutt emerging as a No. 1.
The Jags defense were 11th against the run last year and traded talented DT Marcus Stroud to the Bills. The Jaguars stil have DT John Henderson and may move DE Paul Spicer inside. Jacksonville drafted DE Derrick Harvey and speed rusher Quentin Groves to improve the pass rush. Jacksonville saw how the Giants pass rush was able to bring them the Super Bowl and they are going with the same game plan. Jack Del Rio brought in new Defensive Coordinator Gregg Williams to improve an already good defense that has added some additional pass rushing pieces.
