Jaguars DE Harvey Signs for $33M

August 22, 2008 - Jacksonville Jaguars DE Derrick Harvey has ended his 33 day holdout and signed a reported $33M contract with $17M guaranteed. The Jags traded up to the No. 8 spot to get the 6'5" 271 lb DE from Florida to improve a pass rush. Jacksonville lost both games to Peyton Manning's Indianapolis Colts last year and their NFL playoff game to Tom Brady's Patriots. Jack Del Rio made it a off season priority to improve the pass rush to bring the Jags to the elite of the NFL. Jacksonville gave up a lot to trade for the No. 8 spot in deal that gave Baltimore the No. 26, 2 3rd round picks and a 4th rounder.
