The Titans won 13 games in 2008 with their punishing running game of Chris Johnson and LenDale White (15 TDs) behind one of the leagues top offensive lines who return all five starters. C Kevin Mawae is recovering from off season surgery for his elbow and tricep. The conservative Titans offense saw Kerry Collins throw 13 TDs and 7 INTs in 2008. First round pick WR Kenny Britt brings size and speed to stretch the field and TEs Bo Scaife and Algae Crumpler will see plenty of double TE sets and remain useful offensive options.
2009 Tennessee Titans Defensive Outlook:
The defensive line will be getting a lot of attention early to see if they can remain an elite run defense with Big Albert Haynesworth. Javon Haye and Jason Jones look to plug the middle for Big Albert. The Titans did to generate heat on the edges to pressure the QB with their DEs or the LBs. The secondary looks strong again with CBs Cortland Finnegan, Nick Harper and 3rd pick Mouton. S Michael Griffin and Chris Hope fill out a deep secondary unit that ranked 6th in passing despite not getting a lot of pressure on the QB.
