2013 NFL Week 10 - Dolphis vs. Buccaneers Betting Odds Preview

The Dolphins are suddenly the most controversial team in the NFL in the wake of the controversy surrounding the alleged “bullying” that has happened to starting offensive lineman Jamie Martin by many teammates but specifically fellow lineman Jimmy Incognito which has resulted in the suspension of Incognito and Martin leaving the team. Incognito has a history of causing problems and this may be his final straw. When the story initially made him into a monster it now appears that there are several levels to this story and there are more facts to be found. The only hardcore fact we know as of now is the Dolphins have lost 2/5 of their offensive line and will struggle to replace them. The Bucs are one of the worst teams in the league at 0-8 and are coming off a heartbreaking loss to one of the best teams in the league in the Seattle Seahawks. They blew a 21-point lead in the 27-24 loss. It was a strong performance against a tough Seattle defense and hopefully a sign that the team will perform stronger in the second half and fight for their respect and the job of their head coach.

Mike Glennon has been impressive since he replaced Josh Freeman as the starting quarterback. He threw for 2 touchdowns and has no interceptions in an all around steady performance. They were strong as a team for the first three quarters while rushing the ball for 171 on the 31 designed running plays that were called. However they collapsed in the fourth quarter and were suddenly unable to move the ball. Glennons average pass completion went for nearly 9 yards in the first half and fell to less than 5 in the second half. Inexplicably they went away from the running game with their fourth quarter lead and had only 4 rushing attempts ion the quarter. While they may have looked good in stretches they are one of the worst teams in the league. They don’t seem to compete on every possession and often looked confused in all 3 aspects of the game.

The Dolphins find themselves in the playoff hunt at 4-4 but will have to survive the mess that the Martin/Incognito situation has caused. Lamar Miller rushed for over 100 yards last week against Cincinnati and it remains to be seen if that type of production can be made possible with backup lineman. Mike Wallace has performed up to his big contract as of late and will be needed if they want to continue their playoff push. Their big win over the Bengals has become an afterthought and it will be up to the organization to keep the players focused on the Bucs.

Pick: Bucs +3
