In what should be the best game of the weekend we have two teams that appear to peaking at the right time. The Eagles started the season with Michael Vick at quarterback and looked tremendous in week one. As the season wore on there became a revolving door at quarterback that had Nick Foles come in and then have to sit due to a concussion. Third string quarterback Matt Barkley took several snaps and filled in for both quarterbacks at one point in time. Vick and Foles took turns replacing one another until Foles threw 16 consecutive touchdown passes without an interception and cemented himself as the starter. The Bears had a strong start and things looked great with Jay Cutler and his new coach Marc Trestman who has been known as a quarterback guru throughout his coaching career. Cutler was consistent for the first time in his career and the offense was able to consistently move the ball. Then he went down with an injury and journeyman backup Josh McCown became the starter and he proceeded to be dominant in all of his starts causing many in Chicago to question whether or not the team should go back to Cutler as the starter when healthy. Coach Trestman had always said that Cutler would not lose his job due to injury and he stuck to that plan by sticking with Cutler. Many experts and fans disagreed with the decision as felt that they should be riding the hot hand of McCown. Cutler made his coach look good by shaking off an early interception that was taken back to the house by throwing 3 touchdown passes in a convincing Bears win.

The Bears are starting to shape up as the team that nobody is going to want to play in the playoffs. Matt Forte is a weapon that is utilized out of the backfield as a pass catcher as well as a threat to bounce a run outside at any time. Michael Bush is fast becoming a real threat for the team between the tackles and is almost a guarantee on short yardage plays, especially down on the goal line. Brandon Marshall is having another typical successful season and free agent signee Tight end Martellus Bennett was a top red zone target for the team regardless of who the quarterback was. The biggest difference maker has been the emergence of second year WR Alshon Jeffrey who has arguably the best receiver in the NFL this season. Combine all these weapons with their dominant defense and you have a legit Superbowl contender.

The Eagles are in a close battle for the NFC east championship and are looking at a week 17 battle vs. the Cowboys to earn that right. A win this week will put the pressure on the Cowboys to win otherwise it will make the week 17 matchup mean nothing. Foles has come back down to earth after his fast start. As usual the team will rely heavily on tailback LeSean McCoy

Pick: Bears +3
