The 8-4 Indianapolis Colts will travel to Cleveland Sunday to battle the 7-5 Browns. Both teams are currently in the playoff hunt but after last week, these 2 teams seem to be going in completely different directions. The Colts scored 6 touchdowns in last weeks 49-27 drubbing of the Washington Redskins while the Browns only scored 1 touchdown in their defeat to the Bills 26-10. The lone touchdown coming on a 10 yard run by back up quarterback Johnny Manziel after he came in to replace starter Brian Hoyer who had already thrown 2 picks. The Colts offense looked as good as it has all season with Andrew Luck throwing for 370 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Last weeks performance by the Browns had to come as a surprise as they were coming off a thrilling come from behind win over the 1st place Falcons. Hoyer led a final minute game winning drive and the Browns got back All-pro receiver Josh Gordon back from suspension who caught 8 passes for 120 yards. Running back Isiah Crowell also had a huge game rushing for 88 yards and 2 touchdowns. It appeared the Browns were finally complete and ready to make a playoff push. After last weeks loss to Buffalo in which Hoyer was pulled and Crowell had 17 rushes for only 29 yards there is a lot of uncertainty in Cleveland and getting back on track against a hot Colts team could prove to be very difficult
The Colts have won 3 out of their last 4 games and their offense is clicking on all cylinders with Andrew Luck and TY Hilton leading the way. Luck has found Hilton for touchdowns each of the last 2 weeks. The Colts have also been getting great play from Tight End Coby Fleener and Wide Receiver Donte Moncrief. Fleener has caught 3 touchdowns the past 4 games while averaging 94 receiving yards in that span. Moncrief caught 2 touchdowns last week while amassing 134 receiving yards giving the Colts more weapons should defenses try and shut down Hilton. The Colts have even been getting solid rushing from Dan Herron as Trent Richardson is still trying to find his rhythm after coming back from a Hamstring injury. Herron rushed for 88 yards and a score last week and the Colts haven’t missed a beat at running back.
The Browns have been getting solid play from running back Isiah Crowell who has rushed for 3 touchdowns in his last 4 games. His status for this game is questionable after missing practice on Wednesday with a hip injury. The Browns have announced Hoyer will be back as their starting quarterback but after last week, he will undoubtedly be on a short leash. The hometown crowd will be chanting for Manziel at the first sign of trouble for Hoyer. The Browns are surrounded by uncertainty while the Colts have been playing consistently on both sides of the ball.
