July 31, 2008 - Cincinnati Red OF Ken Griffey Jr. has been traded to American League Chicago White Sox for Pitcher Nick Masset and Infielder Danny Richar. The left handed hitting outfielder Griffey is hitting .245 AVG, 15HR, 53 RBI, .355 OBP and .432 SLG this year. Griffey is expected to play centrefield and DH for White Sox. Griffey will provide a power hitting left handers for Chicago who is leading the tight AL Central division with a 60-46 record with a 1 game lead over the Minnesota Twins. It will be interesting to see how much of an impact Griffey will have on the White Sox as he has not played centre field this year. Moreover, the White Sox are set on the corners with Carlos Quentin and Jermaine Dye. The move may be able to revitalize the power hitting slugger at the end of his career.
