Opening night of the NBA Preseason when peoples attention is still focused on the NFL and MLB post season. Phoenix lost Amare to the Knicks and traded Barbosa for the much maligned Hedo to fill in the PF spot. Do not expect a lot of playing time from Hedo in the preseason. Phoenix’s key acquisition in the off season is Josh Childress whose energy and rebounding could be an X factor in the coming year.
The Kings are relying on their young players to continue to develop. Sacramento traded for big man Samuel Dalembert and moved C Spencer Hawes. Big men take time to get into game shape during the preseason and it will take Dalembert to adjust to his new team. The Kings are still a very young team with not a lot of leadership.
The Suns bench is very good with Dragic, Dudley and now Childress continuing to improve. Nash, Hill and Hedo will play limited but the Suns bench has played well last year and look for them to outplay the Kings.
