The 6-2 Arizona Cardinals travel to Seattle to take on the 4-4 Seahawks as both teams are coming off their bye week. Both teams were victorious in week 8 but Arizona won convincingly as Seattle just barely hung on. The Cardinals beat the Cleveland Browns 34-20 despite trailing at halftime 20-10. They absolutely dominated the second half by shutting the browns out and turning a 10 point deficit into a 2 touchdown win. The Seahawks were actually trailing in the 4th quarter before they were able to kick the game winning field goal with 1 minute left to preserve the 1 point victory over the Dallas Cowboys who were still without Tony Romo.
The Cardinals played well on both sides of the ball as they gained more than 480 yards of offense while limiting the Browns to only 262 yards including only 39 on the ground. Carson Palmer had a huge day as he threw for 374 yards and 4 touchdowns. His favorite target was Larry Fitzgerald who caught 9 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. Michael Floyd only caught 4 passes but had 106 receiving yards including a 60 yard touchdown reception in the third quarter. Arizona also had success running the ball as Chris Johnson had 30 carries for 109 yards. The only negative for the offense is that they turned the ball over 4 times with 3 loss fumbles and 1 interception. Defensively, they shut down the Browns running game entirely as Cleveland only gained 39 yards on 20 carries. They had some issues with the pass defense as Josh McCown threw 3 touchdowns before being replaced by Johnny Manziel after suffering a rib injury. The defense did force 2 turnovers as McCown threw an interception and they were able to recover a fumble.
Seattle had trouble on the offensive end as they were only able to score 1 touchdown against the Cowboys. They also had 4 drives in which they had to punt after only 3 plays and had a 4th quarter field goal blocked that would have given them the lead. Russell Wilson had a decent game as he completed 19 of 30 passes for 210 yards and a touchdown while also throwing an interception. Jimmy Graham and Marshawn Lynch both had decent games but neither was able to find the end Zone. Graham had 7 receptions for 75 yards while Lynch had 21 carries for 71 yards. Defensively, they played much better as they only allowed 226 yards of offense including only 97 passing yards. They held the Cowboys to only 4 field goals and had 5 tackles for losses.
The Cardinals are 5-3 against the Spread this year including a 3-1 mark on the road. The Seahawks are 2-5-1 against the spread this year including only 1-2 at home. Carson Palmer is healthy and playing the best football of his career. Since the start of last season, the Cardinals are 12-2 in games started by Palmer.
