2015 NFL Week 11 - Titans vs. Jaguars Betting Odds Preview

The 2-7 Tennessee Titans travel to Jacksonville to take on 3-6 Jaguars in this week’s Thursday night Matchup. The Titans are coming off another poor offensive showing as they were blown out by the Carolina Panthers last week 27 -10. This marks the 4th time in the last 5 games that the Titans failed to score more than 10 points and they have lost all 4 of those games. The Jaguars trailed entering the 4th quarter but Jason Myers was able to make a 53 yard field goal as time expired giving the Jaguars the 22-20 victory over Baltimore. This was only their 2nd win in the past 6 games.

The Titans offense really struggled in this game especially in the second half as they were shut out. They had 5 second half drives and 3 of them they punted after 3 plays and the other 2 resulted in turnovers. Marcus Mariota struggled as he only threw for 185 yards on 16 completions. His quarterback rating was 37.2 as he threw an interception without throwing a touchdown. Dexter McCluster had 3 rushes for 25 yards and their only touchdown, but as team they struggled running the ball gaining only 64 yards on 21 carries. Delanie Walker led the receivers with 3 catches for 52 yards. The Defensive line had a great game as they were able to sack Cam Newton 5 times and had 9 tackles for losses. However, they had some trouble containing Jonathan Stewart who had 22 carries for 91 yards and a touchdown. The Offensive line has been much better under new coach Mike Mularkey. Mariota was sacked 19 times through the team’s first 5 games but has only been sacked once since Mularkey took over 2 weeks ago.

The Jaguars defense came up big in last week’s victory as they were able to force the Ravens into 4 turnovers and shut down their running game. Davon House had both of the Jaguars interceptions and they were also able to recover 2 fumbles. The defensive line was only able to sack Joe Flacco once but limited Baltimore to only 89 rushing yards on 21 carries. The secondary had less success as they allowed 6 different Baltimore receivers to have receptions that went for at least 20 yards. The Offense did just enough to get the win. Blake Bortles completed 22 of 45 passes for 188 yards and 2 touchdowns. He did throw an interception and was sacked 3 times for a loss of 20 yards. Allen Hurns and Allen Robinson each had 5 receptions and each scored a touchdown.

Over the last 5 games the Jaguars have averaged 26 points per game while the Titans have averaged half that amount with 13. The Titans are 4-5 against the spread this year and the Jaguars have gone 5-4. Jacksonville are slight favorites in this game but have home field advantage and an outside chance at the playoffs in the weak AFC South.
