The 4-0 New England Patriots travel to Indianapolis to take on the Colts in this weeks Sunday night matchup. Both teams are coming off impressive wins as the Patriots beat the Cowboys 30-6 and the Colts beat the Texans 27-20. The Patriots played great on both sides of the ball and the outcome was never in doubt while the Colts were able to hang on without Andrew Luck who missed the game with a shoulder injury

The Patriots played a complete game last week and it started with quarterback Tom Brady who is playing as good as he ever has. He completed 20 of 27 passes for 275 yards and 2 touchdowns without throwing an interception. He leads the league with 347 passing yards per game and a quarterback rating of 121.5. On the year so far he has thrown for 1,387 with 11 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Julian Edelman had another big game even though he only caught 4 passes. He had 120 receiving yards, which included a 59 yards touchdown in the 4th quarter. Legarrete Blount and Dion Lewis combined to get 108 yards on just 19 carries. Kicker Stephen Gastkowski was 3 for 3 on his field goal attempts, which included a 57 yarder. Defensively, they didn’t allow a touchdown and forced Dallas into 3 turnovers. If there was a negative in this game it was that the offensive line allowed Tom Brady to be sacked 5 times.

The Colts received great production out of their 2 major off-season acquisitions to earn the important victory to remain unbeaten in the AFC South. Andre Johnson had 6 catches for 77 yards and 2 touchdowns with the second coming in the 4th quarter, which pushed the Colts lead from 3 points to 10. Frank Gore also had a big day with 22 carries for 98 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck had his second strong game in a row as Indianapolis has won both games he has started in place of Luck. He completed 18 of 29 passes for 213 yards and 2 touchdowns without throwing an interception. Luck’s status is still up in the air for this week and the Colts might not be in a rush to bring him back as he has started the year by throwing more interceptions (7) than touchdowns (5). Defensively, they allowed the Texans to accumulate over 440 yards on offense but did have 2 interceptions.

This game is a rematch of last years AFC Championship game in which the Patriots destroyed the Colts 45-7 and was the 6th matchup in a row between these 2 teams in which the Patriots won by at least 21 points. So far this year New England is 3-0-1 against the spread while the Colts are 1-4. This is a home game for the Colts but the Patriots proved they could win big here. They will have extra motivation for this game, as the Colts are the team that filed the complaint that led to the deflate-gate scandal.
