The 5-5 Buffalo Bills will travel to Kansas City to take on the 6-4 Chiefs in this Sunday afternoon Matchup. Both teams have played poorly recently as the Bills are on a 3 game losing streak and the Chiefs have lost 4 of their last 5 games. Last week was no different as both suffered very disappointing losses. Kansas City failed to score a touchdown and were beaten 12-9 by the New York Giants in overtime. This was only the second win of the season for New York. Buffalo decided to make a quarterback change last week and the results were not pretty. Buffalo lost 54-24 to the San Diego Chargers and their defense has really struggled during this losing streak. In their last 3 games they have been outscored 135-55.

Alex Smith played very poorly last week as he finished with a quarterback rating of 38.8. He completed 27 of his 40 passes for 230 yards 0 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. His favorite target was Travis Kelce who had 8 catches for 109 yards. They had some success running the ball gaining 134 yards on 29 carries. Kareem Hunt led the team 73 yards on 18 carries. For the season, the Chiefs have averaged 26 points and 385 yards per game. Defensively, they limited the Giants to just 4 field goals and allowed just 1 play to gain more than 20 yards. They were not able to force a turnover nor were they able to sack Eli Manning. They allowed the Giants to gain 112 yards on 32 carries, which is an average of 3.7 yards per run.

Nathan Peterman replaced Tyrod Taylor and lasted just one half. In that half, he completed just 6 of 14 passes with 0 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. By the time Taylor returned in the second half they were down 37-10. Taylor threw for 158 yards, 1 touchdown and 0 interceptions in the second half and has been named the starter for this week’s game. Zay Jones was the leading receiver with 4 catches for 68 yards. They had more success running the ball gaining 173 yards and scoring 2 touchdowns. LeSean McCoy led the team with 114 yards and a touchdown on just 13 carries. Defensively, they weren’t able to force a turnover and only sacked Philip Rivers once. They allowed 146 rushing yards on 35 carries and had 5 tackles for losses.

Kansas City will have home field advantage and are favored by 10 points. They have gone 6-4 against the spread this season including 3-1 at home. The Bills have gone 5-4-1 against the spread this season including 2-3 on the road. Kansas City just signed Darrelle Revis to help boost their pass defense and Coach Andy Reid has not ruled out the possibility of Revis playing this week. He can only help a pass defense which ranks 25th in the league with 254 yards allowed. Buffalo is currently in second place in the AFC East while the Chiefs sit atop the AFC West.
