The 5-1 Kansas City Chiefs will travel to Oakland to take on the 2-4 Raiders in this Thursday night matchup. Both teams are coming off tough home losses last week. The Chiefs had their worst offensive performance of the season losing to Pittsburgh 19-13. It was the first time all year they failed to score at least 24 points. Running back Charcandrick West suffered a concussion and missed Tuesday’s practice, and his status for this game is questionable. The Raiders were defeated for the fourth time in a row with a last second 17-16 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Kansas City played poorly on both sides of the ball last week resulting in their first loss of the season. Defensively, they allowed the Steelers to gain 446 yards and couldn’t stop Antonio Brown or Le’veon Ball. Bell rushed for 179 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries while Brown caught 8 passes for 155 yards and a touchdown. They did intercept Ben Roethlisberger once and had 6 tackles for losses. Offensively, their run game was non-existent as they gained just 28 yards on 15 carries. Running back Kareem Hunt had 5 100- yard games in the first six but was held to just 21 yards on 9 carries. Alex Smith finished with a quarterback rating of 36 as he completed just 19 of his 34 passes for 246 yards, 1 touchdown and 0 interceptions. His favorite target was Kareem Hunt who had 5 catches for 89 yards.

Derek Carr played poorly last week in his return from a back injury by completing 21 of 30 passes for 171 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions. Carr has had a disappointing season thus far throwing just 8 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. His favorite target was Michael Crabtree who had 6 catches for 52 yards and a touchdown. Marshawn Lynch led the running game with 63 yards on 13 carries. They scored 45 points in their week 1 defeat of the New York Jets but have yet to score more than 17 points since. Defensively, they recovered a fumble and sacked Philip Rivers once. They did a decent job against the rush allowing 80 yards on 28 carries. On the season their defense has allowed 360 yards and 21 points per game.

Oakland will have home field advantage and is still 3-point underdogs in this game. They are 2-4 against the spread this season while Kansas City has gone 5-1. The Chiefs sit alone atop the AFC West while the Raiders are tied with Chargers for last. On the season, their defenses have been evenly match as the Raiders give up 21 points per game and the Chiefs give up 21.7. Offensively, Oakland ranks 18th with 21 points per game and the Chiefs rank third with 29.5.
