The 4-2 Miami Dolphins will travel to Baltimore to take on the 3-4 Ravens in this Thursday night matchup with the teams headed in different directions. Miami won their 3rd game in a row with a 31-28 come from behind home win over the New York Jets. Quarterback Jay Cutler left the game with a chest injury in the 3rd quarter and his status is doubtful for this game. His replacement was Matt Moore, who played well and spearheaded the second half comeback. Baltimore lost for the 4th time in 5 games last week with a 24 -16 defeat to the Minnesota Vikings on the road.

Before the injury, Jay Cutler played well by completing 12 of 16 passes with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Matt Moore replaced Cutler early in the third quarter and continued with the good quarterback play finishing with a passer rating of 103. He completed 13 of 21 passes for 138 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. Receiver Kenny Stills had a big day with 6 catches for 85 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jarvis Landry also had a nice game with 7 catches for 93 yards and a touchdown. They struggled running the ball with only 53 yards on 25 carries. On the season the Dolphins offense is averaging 279 yards and 15 .3 points per game. Defensively, they forced the Jets into 2 turnovers and sacked Josh McCown 3 times. They limited New York to 92 yards rushing on 22 carries and had 4 tackles for losses.

Baltimore’s offense struggled last week and was only able to gain 250 yards. Joe Flacco finished with a quarterback rating of 15 as he completed 27 of 39 passes for 186 yards, 1 touchdown and 0 interceptions while being sacked 5 times. His favorite target was Benjamin Watson who had 5 catches for 38 yards. They also struggled running the ball gaining just 64 yards on 20 carries, which is an average of 3.2 yards per rush. Defensively, they were able to intercept Case Keenum once and had 5 tackles for losses. They had 0 sacks and really struggled against the run. Minnesota ran the ball 33 times and gained 159 yards, which is an average of over 5 yards per carry. On the season, the Ravens have allowed their opponents to average 18.5 points and 347 yards per game.

Baltimore will have home field advantage and are favored by a field goal in this game despite having the inferior record. The Ravens have gone 3-4 against the spread this season including 1-2 at home. Miami has gone 3-2-1 against the spread this season including 2-1 on the road. Matt Moore played well filling in for Cutler last week and their 31 points was their highest output of the season. For Baltimore, wide receivers Jeremy Maclin and Bershad Perriman missed last week’s game with injuries. Maclin has a shoulder injury and Perriman suffered a concussion against the Bears in week 6. Both of their statuses are questionable, as neither has been cleared to play.
