The 8-1 Philadelphia Eagles will travel to Dallas to take on the 5-4 Cowboys in this week’s Thursday night matchup. These teams are coming off very different weeks. Dallas lost 27-7 on the road in Atlanta to the Falcons. This ended their 3 game win streak and it was the first of 6 games in a row without Ezekiel Elliott who began serving his suspension. To add insult to injury, linebacker Sean Lee injured his hamstring and is doubtful for this week’s game. Philadelphia won their 7th in a row with a 51 to 23 blowout victory over the Denver Broncos. The Eagles enter this game with the NFL’s 4th best offense as they average 377 yards and 31.4 points per game.

Without Elliott, the Cowboys offense really struggled and it started with Dak Prescott. He finished with a quarterback rating of 41 by completing 20 of 30 passes for 176 yards and 0 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. He was sacked 8 times and lost 2 fumbles. His favorite target was Jason Witten who had 7 receptions for 59 yards. Alfred Morris led the run game with 53 yards on 11 carries. The 7 points scored is way below their season average of 26 points per game. Defensively, they intercepted Matt Ryan once and also had 1 sack. They struggled against the rush allowing the Falcons to gain 132 yards on 34 carries. On the season, the Cowboys defense has allowed their opponents to score 23 points and gain 352 yards per game.

Philadelphia played well on both sides of the ball last week and Carson Wentz continued his MVP Caliber season. He finished with a passer rating of 118.7 as he completed 15 of 27 passes for 199 yards, 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. This year he has thrown 23 touchdowns and just 5 interceptions. His favorite target was Alshon Jeffrey who had 84 yards and 2 touchdowns on 6 receptions. They also had success running the ball led by Jay Ajayi who had 8 carries for 77 yards and a touchdown. Corey Clement also had a nice day with 51 yards and 2 touchdowns on 12 carries. Defensively, they allowed the Broncos just 243 yards of offense and intercepted Brock Osweiler twice. They completely shut the run game down as Denver gained just 35 yards on 19 carries. They also sacked Osweiler 3 times and had 9 tackles for losses. On the season, the Eagles defense has allowed their opponents to score 20 points and gain 334 yards per game.

Dallas will have home field advantage in this game but with out Elliott, they are 3.5 point underdogs in this game. The Cowboys have gone 5-4 against the spread this season including 3-2 at home. Philadelphia has gone 7-2 against the spread this season including 3-1 on the road. The Eagles enter this game as the hottest team in the league and Dallas will be without one of their best players.
