The 10-5 Jacksonville Jaguars will travel to Tennessee to take on the 8-7 Titans in this week 17 Sunday afternoon matchup. Both teams are coming off losses last week but sit in very different positions. The Titans lost their third game in a row by less than 6 points with a 27-23 home loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Although their playoff spot is secure, head coach Doug Marrone has stated he won’t rest his starters this week as he is looking for positive momentum heading into the playoffs.

They allowed 131 rushing yards on 35 carries which is an average of 3.7 yards per run. They intercepted Jimmy Garoppolo once and sacked him once as well. Marcus Mariota struggled last week finishing with a quarterback rating of just 41. He completed 22 of 39 passes for 275 yards, 0 touchdowns and 1 interception. His favorite target was Corey Davis who had 6 catches for 91 yards. They averaged 3.7 yards per run as they gained 97 yards on 26 carries. Demarco Murray led the team with 48 yards and the teams only touchdown on 15 carries. He suffered a third degree MCL tear in the third quarter and didn’t return. With the importance of this game being so high, he hasn’t yet been ruled out for this week and will be a game time decision. Defensively, they forced 1 turnover by recovering a fumble and sacked Jared Goff once. They could not stop Todd Gurley who finished with 276 yards from scrimmage. He ran the ball 22 times for 118 yards but caught another 10 passes for 158 yards and 2 touchdowns. On the year, the Titans defense has allowed their opponents to score and average of 23 points and gain 352 yards per game.

Tennessee will have home field advantage in this game and are favored by a field goal. They have gone 7-7-1 against the spread this season including 4-2-1 at home. Jacksonville has gone 9-6 against the spread including 4-3 on the road. Jacksonville enters as the hotter team having won 3 of their last 4 games while the Texans have dropped 3 of their last 4.
