The 5-5 Green Bay Packers will travel to Pittsburgh to take on the 8-2 Steelers in this week’s Sunday night matchup. These teams are headed in different directions as the Steelers are on a 5 game win streak and the Packers have lost 4 of their last 5 games. Pittsburgh dominated the Tennessee Titans last week with a 40-17 home victory. Their offense has been great all season as Le’Veon Bell leads the NFL in rush yards and Antonio Brown leads the league in receptions. Green Bay was shut out last week by the by the Baltimore Ravens 27-0 at home. Since Aaron Rodgers was lost for the season in week six they are 1-3 and have been outscored 95-57.

Ben Roethlisberger shined against the Titans finishing with a quarterback rating of 115. He completed 30 of 45 passes for 299 yards, 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. His favorite target was Antonio Brown who had 10 catches for 144 yards and 3 touchdowns. Le’Veon Bell led the team with 46 rushing yards on 12 carries but also had 9 catches for another 57 yards. For the season, their offense has averaged 22.7 points and 367 yards per game. Defensively, they played well as they intercepted Marcus Mariota 4 times and sacked him 5 times. They are currently ranked second in the NFL with 34 sacks. They also shut down the run game as the Titans gained just 52 yards in 21 carries, which is an average of 2.5 yards per run.

Brett Hundley has really struggled as Rodgers backup and last week was no different. He finished with a passer rating of just 13 as he completed 21 of 36 passes for 239 yards, 0 touchdowns and 3 interceptions while also losing a fumble. The only bright spot for the Packers offense was Davante Adams who had 126 receiving yards on 8 catches. They struggled running the ball gaining just 75 yards on 25 carries. Defensively, they did a good job limiting the Ravens to just 241 yards of offense. They intercepted Joe Flacco once and had 2 sacks and 8.5 tackles for losses. They also did a nice job against the run limiting Baltimore to 58 yards on 26 carries. On the season, the Packers defense has allowed their opponents to average 23 points and gain 356 yards per game.

Pittsburgh will have home field advantage for this game and is favored by 2 touchdowns. They have gone 6-4 against the spread this season including 3-1 at home. Green Bay has gone 4-6 against the spread including 2-2 on the road. Injuries are a big reason why this matchup isn’t the powerhouse primetime game it could have been with the Packers listing 12 players on their injury report. In addition to Rodgers being out, Clay Matthews, Quinton Dial and Nick Perry will all be game time decisions. Only one of the Steelers past 5 victories has been by more than 14 points.
