The 2-1 Washington Redskins travel to Kansas City to take on the 3-0 Chiefs in this week 4 Monday Night Matchup. Both teams have won the last 2 weeks with the Chiefs being the only other team besides Atlanta that hasn’t lost yet this season. Last week the Redskins completely shut down the Raiders offense to earn the 27-10 home victory. Kansas City continued its hot start with an easy 24-10 road win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Linebacker Dee Ford did not return to the game after suffering a hip injury and his status is questionable for this game.

Rookie running back Kareem Hunt had another great game last week to lead the Chiefs offense. He gained 172 yards and touchdown on just 17 carries, which is an average of over 10 yards per rush. After 3 weeks he leads the league in both yards gained with 401 and touchdowns with 6. Alex Smith had a very productive game at quarterback completing 16 of his 21 passes for 155 yards, 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. His favorite target was Tyreek Hill who caught 5 passes for 77 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, they intercepted Philip Rivers 3 times and had 7 tackles for losses. They allowed Los Angeles to rush for 104 yards on 26 carries and had 2 sacks. If there was a negative for the Chiefs in this game it was that they allowed Alex Smith to be sacked 5 times.

Washington completely dominated Oakland on both sides of the ball last week. Offensively they gained 481 while their defense only gave up 150 yards, which was the least amount of yards the franchise has allowed in the last 25 years. They shut the run game down as the Raiders gained just 32 yards on 15 carries. They sacked Derrick Carr 4 times and intercepted him twice. They allowed only 1 offensive play to gain more than 11 yards. Kirk Cousins led the offense with a passer rating of 150.7 after throwing for just 419 yards in the first 2 games combined. He completed 25 of his 30 passes for 365 yards, 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. His favorite target was Chris Johnson who had a monster game with 6 catches for 150 yards and a touchdown. Vernon Davis also had a nice game with 5 catches for 58 yards and a touchdown. Samaje Perine led the running game with 49 yards on 19 carries.

Kansas City’s offense has been really rolling as they have now scored a touchdown of at least 50 yards in nine consecutive games. The Chiefs have gone 3-0 against the spread this season While Washington has gone 2-1. Kansas city has placed kicker Cairo Santos on injured reserve due a groin injury, which means rookie Harrison Butker will be making his NFL debut. For the Redskins, tight end Jordan Reed has been limited in practice this week with a chest injury and his status is questionable for this game.
