The 2-8 New York Giants will travel to Washington to take on the 4-6 Redskins in the third of 3 Thanksgiving Day games. These 2 teams represent the bottom of the NFC East standings and both teams have lost 3 of their last 4 games. Last week Washington blew a late lead and the Giants won for just the second time all season. The Redskins were defeated 34-31 in overtime by the New Orleans Saints despite leading by 15 points with just six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. They have now given up 72 points in their last 2 games. New York was victorious last week despite scoring just 1 touchdown as they edged the Kansas City Chiefs 12-9 at home.

They struggled a little bit against the rush as the Chiefs had 134 yards on 29 carries, which is an average of 4.6 yards per run. For the season, the Giants defense has allowed their opponents to average 24.7 points and gain 404 yards per game. Kirk Cousins led the Redskins offense to 31 points and finished with a passer rating of 132 but it wasn’t enough to get the win. He completed 22 of 32 passes for 322 yards, 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. His favorite target was Jamison Crowder who had 7 catches for 72 yards. Josh Doctson also had a nice game with 4 catches for 81 yards. They had success running the ball gaining 156 yards on 33 carries. Redskin’s tight end Jordan Reed has missed the last 3 games with a hamstring injury and he is questionable to return this week. Washington will have home field advantage for this game and is favored by 7.5 points. They have gone 4-6 against the spread this season including 3-2 at home. New York has gone 4-6 against the spread this season including 3-2 on the road. While the Giants have been eliminated from the playoffs, the Redskins still have a small chance if they can win out.
