The 11-3 Minnesota Vikings will travel to Green Bay to take on the 7-7 Packers in this week’s Saturday night matchup. These teams are coming off very different weeks as the Vikings clinched the NFC North division and the Packers were officially eliminated from the playoffs. Minnesota easily beat the Cincinnati Bengals at home 34-7 for their 9th win in their last 10 games. The blowout victory allowed Teddy Bridgewater to make his return after suffering a massive knee injury 16 months ago. Aaron Rodgers returned for Green Bay but it wasn’t enough as they lost 31-24 to the Carolina Panthers. To add injury to insult, Wide Receiver Davante Adams suffered a concussion and is still remains in the NFL’s concussion protocol.

The Vikings defense absolutely shut down the Bengals offense allowing them to gain just 161 yards of total offense. The limited Cincinnati to just 46 rushing yards on 20 carries. They intercepted Andy Dalton twice and sacked him 3 times. They allowed 1 play to gain more than 16 yards and finished with 6 tackles for losses. On the year, the Vikings defense has allowed their opponents to average 17 points and gain 301 yards per game. Offensively, Case Keenum played great and finished with a passer rating of 138.4. He completed 20 of his 23 passes for 236 yards, 2 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. His favorite target was Jerick Mckinnon who had 7 catches for 114 yards. They also had success running the ball gaining 124 yards with Latavius Murray leading the team with 76 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.

Aaron Rodgers returned from a broken Collarbone but it wasn’t enough to get the victory last week. He threw 3 touchdowns and 3 interceptions but after the game he was placed on injured reserve and will be replaced by Brett Hundley this week. Randall Cobb was Rodgers favorite receiver last week as he caught 7 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. They ran the ball well gaining 120 yards on just 19 carries, which is an average of 6.3 yards per run. Hundley has done a decent job this season as Rodgers backup by completing 63 percent of his passes and throwing 8 touchdowns while also throwing 8 interceptions. Defensively, they did not force a turnover and were only able to sack Cam Newton once. They allowed the Panthers to rush for 151 yards on 38 carries. On the season, the Packers defense has allowed their opponents to score 24 points and gain 372 yards per game.

Green Bay will have home field advantage and are favored by 9 points in this game. They have gone 7-7 against the spread this season including 3-4 at home. Minnesota has gone 10-4 against the spread including 4-3 on the road. Green Bay does not have anything left to play for, will be starting their backup quarterback and will be without their best wide receiver.
