2009 Denver Broncos Betting
The 2009 Denver Broncos enter year like a Hollywood horror movie doing their best to imitate the Oakland Raiders dysfunctional system. New head coach Josh McDaniels traded QB Jay Cutler in a off season dispute and WR Brandon Marshal has also demanded a trade. Josh McDaniels is an offensive guru who lead the Patriots to the #1 NFL offense 3 years in a row calling all the plays. New defensive coordinator will bring a new 3-4 scheme and large turnover of players on the defensive side of the ball that was 28th in scoring defense.

2008 Denver Broncos Key Stats
2008 Record: T1 8-8 (1st, AFC West)
Offensive Team Rank: 12th Rushing, 3rd Passing, 16th Scoring
Defensive Team Rank: 27th Rushing, 26th Passing, 30th Scoring
Top OFFENSIVE STAR: WR Brandon Marshall (104 receptions, 6 TD)
Top DEFENSIVE STAR: CB Champ Bailey (44 tackles, 1 INT, 1 sack)
2007 Record: 7-9 (2nd, AFC West)
Offensive Team Rank: 9th Rushing, 13th Passing, 21st Scoring
Defensive Team Rank: 30th Rushing, 7th Passing, 28th Scoring
2009 Offensive Outlook:
The offensive line is above average in pass protection and opening up holes for the run. T Ryan Clady and Ryan Harris will protect the edges for Orton who should have more time in the pocket than in Chicago. The Shanahan era of no name 1000 yard rushers is over and it remains to be seen how McDaniels will call his offensive run/pass ratio. 3 new RBs in Moreno, Lamont Jordan and Buckhalter in a crowded backfield. WR Marshall is as good as gone. Gaffney, Lloyd, Stokley are the new WR with no clear #1. Lot of question marks on offense.
2009 Defensive Outlook:
The 2008 Broncos defense was horrendous in stopping the run with the 30th ranked rush defense. OLB Ayers missed most of the preseason after signing late. The Broncos LB shoud bring decent pressure with LB D.J. Williams (93 tackles, 2 1/2 sacks) and Elvis Dumervil (24 tackles, 5 sacks) and Andra Davis. The defensive line is still questionable in stopping the run with Mike Nolan bringing NT Ronald Fields from SF and getting DT Darrell Reid (from Colts). Secondary should be better if Champ Bailed can stay healthy along with CB Dre Bly. If the Broncos can't improve on the run defense they will be in the bottom tier in scoring defense again.
