The 5-2 New England Patriots will travel to Buffalo to take on the 2-5 Bills in this week’s Monday night game. Momentum is on the Patriots side as these teams are coming off very different weeks. New England won its 4th in a row with a 38-31 victory over the Chicago Bears. They have averaged 40 points per game during the streak and currently sit alone in first place in the AFC East. The Bills lost for the third time in their last 4 games with a 37-5 defeat to the Indianapolis Colts. Unlike the Patriots their offense has really struggled during that stretch scoring just 30 points. Quarterback Derek Anderson made the start as he replaced Josh Allen who will be out another week with an elbow injury.

The Bills offense hit a low point last week by turning the ball over 5 times while scoring just a field goal as their other 2 points coming via safety. Anderson struggled finishing with a quarterback rating of 29. He completed 20 of 31 passes for 175 yards, 0 touchdowns and 4 interceptions. His favorite target was Kelvin Benjamin who had 4 catches for 71 yards. They little success they did have was with the run as they gained 135 yards on just 22 carries. Their offense ranks dead last in the league in pass yards with just 906. Defensively, they really struggled defending the run as the Colts had 220 yards on 37 carries. They did not force a turnover and they weren’t able to sack Andrew Luck.
Despite having home field advantage, the Bills are still 14-point underdogs. They have gone 3-4 against the spread including 1-1 at home. Their offense has really struggled and their quarterback is making his second start since 2016. The Patriots have gone 4-3 against the spread including 1-2 on the road. Tom Brady has 28 wins against the Bills, which is the most ever by a quarterback against a single team. Lesean Mccoy has practiced this week after being in the concussion protocol and has not been ruled out for playing in this game.
