East Region Contenders

Villanova lost a tough game to Georgetown on 1/19 and has been on fire ever since ripping off 15 straight wins. 7 of these wins came against teams that were ranked in the top 30. The Wildcats are a very balanced team that relies heavily on their starting 5 who all average over 24 minutes per game and were the best defensive team in the Big east

Oklahoma has the size and speed to play with any team in the country. They are a hybrid team in that their style of play can change from game to game and that makes them extremely dangerous in a tournament like this.

Pretender

Virginia is plays like a really good high school team. They play tremendous defense and usually burn 20-25 seconds off the shot clock on offense, however you need to score to win games in this tournament and they haven’t shown they are capable of playing at a higher pace.

Sleeper

Northern Iowa has a superstar in Seth Tuttle who can carry a team on his back. When you combine that with a cast of veteran teammates and a proven coach and you have a winning combination

Midwest Region Contenders

Kentucky. Undefeated and they have a bigger frontline than most NBA teams. Enough said.

Notre Dame is a team capable of taking down Kentucky strictly because of their ability to hits 3’s in bunches like they did in their ACC championship win. The also have a superstar in Jerian Grant who is capable of carrying a team

Pretender- Pretty much everyone in the bracket not named Kentucky

Sleeper

Buffalo is best known for its head coach, Bobby Hurley, who has had many great moments in this tournament. Having played Kentucky and Wisconsin tough they showed they can play with anybody and have only gotten stronger as the season has gone on.

South Region Contenders

Duke has the most outstanding offensive player who is a dynamic playmaker and unguardable in the post in Jahil Okafor. Combined with the backcourt of Quinn Cook and Tyus Jones and you have a team built for the NCAA tourney.

Gonazaga coach Mark Few says this is his best team and with a deep roster it’s hard to argue. When clicking on offense they will be very tough to beat

Pretender

Georgetown is known for early round tournament exits under John Thompson III and this game is no difference.

Sleeper

Eastern Washington has the Nations leading scorer in Tyler Harvey and forward Venky Jois has finally returned to health after battling an ankle injury.

West Region Contender

Wisconsin is led by forward Frank Kaminsky who leads a veteran team into the tournament and is considered by many the only team with any real chance of taking down Kentucky.

Pretender

UNC has very little depth at guard and relies almost solely on Marcus Paige to create offense from the guard spot and that is not a winning formula in what is known as a “guards tournament”

Sleeper

Ohio St has DeAngelo Russell who may easily be the most dynamic player in the country. Combine that with a deep roster and a veteran coach and you have a formula for success.

FINAL FOUR PREDICTION

Oklahoma, Gonzaga, Kentucky, and Wisconsin

National Champion

Kentucky
